Women’s World Cup

Fútbol is one of my favorite sports to watch. There is so much athleticism and heart in this sport; not to mention, they are actual World Champions. It’s not like the American version of “World Champions” where they only play teams within America; maybe a team from Canada. But just because they go up against one team from another country does not make them “World Champions”.

Anyway, I’ve been keeping up with the World Cup and it’s especially easy to do since it’s in my same timezone. Score! The even better part is that the U.S. Team is at the top of their table! Their game as a whole has been a little bit lacking but somehow they’ve been able to get the job done. The ladies play Nigeria in the final group play match. Be sure to check it out and show our country some support!  U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

What this post was really supposed to be about is the fact that my brother is there. Since it is taking place in Canada which is our neighbor to the north, he decided that he wanted to go. Upon searching for tickets, he discovered that they were offering a Stadium Passport. What that means is that you could purchase season tickets to a particular stadium. The only catch at the time was that the group fixtures hadn’t been released, so you were blindly purchasing and hoping your favorite team would play at that stadium.

Since my brother wanted to go with his friends and they are starving college students, they decided to purchase the least expensive Stadium Passport to Winnipeg Stadium. These guys love the game so they were just wanting to be there and experience the World Cup festivities. Luckily for them, that’s where Group D was playing which is the group that U.S.A is in! Needless to say, their excitement grew even more. Here are a couple of pictures that he’s sent:

With all that being said, I’ll incorporate some words of wisdom. If there’s something you want to do, go out and do it. Don’t let anything stop you. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and my brother made it happen with three of his best friends. Even if you don’t have the money or the resources, commit to finding a way to make it happen. You don’t want to live life with regrets! Always say yes and figure it out later!
